Iron Golf Swing - How To Master Your Iron Play

Iron Golf Swing

iron golf swing
The Masters at Augusta National puts a huge necessity on the iron game more than any other major golf tournament. Here's how to build an iron golf swing by copying what the pros do at Augusta!

The lightening fast greens and mind bending slopes of Augusta National put so much emphasis on quality iron golf shots that even the most seasoned pros can get rattled (see Greg Norman). The most demanding aspect about August National is the absence of flat lies, with it's sloping landscape and bikini waxed greens, you will encounter one of the most challenging tests of iron play on the planet!

To help you master your iron golf swing and thus improve your enjoyment of this great game of golf, let us go through some of Augusta National’s toughest iron shots and explain how to execute them properly. If you already strike your iron shots perfectly every time, then use these tips on solid iron play as a course guide while you watch the Masters on TV. But if you’re like the widespread majority of golfers, you probably battle with many of the risky shots the pros see at the Masters. If this is you, read on...

With the right kind of practice along with a good fundamental understanding of what constitutes a solid iron game, you CAN build a great iron game just like the pros!

Draw On #16
The 16th hole at Augusta is often the deciding factor on who will win the Masters. Perhaps the most dramatic moment ever on the 16th hole at Augusta is of Jack Nicklaus hitting a pure iron shot he nearly holed out on his way to his sixth Masters victory in 1986. What makes Nicklaus' accomplishment on the 16th hole so incredible was the Sunday pin placement. Because the hole was placed in the back left corner of the green, this called for Nicklaus to shape his iron shot from right to left, a draw was never one of Nicklaus' strong suits. However, like all the great golfers of the past, Nicklaus knew how to execute a draw when he really needed to. It’s also interesting to note while Nicklaus came through with birdies on 16 in ’75 and ’86 on his way to victory, others who struggled to hit a draw (see David Duval) lost their chance to win The Masters on this hole. Since the vast majority of amateur golfers fight a slice, the idea of hitting a draw seems daunting at best. However, there are really only two simple factors that must be present to produce a right-to-left ballflight: the golf club must attack from a slightly inside-out path and the club face must be free to rotate on plane through impact. A good way to visualize this path is to imagine the club hitting the ball on the inside quadrant closest to the golfer. This visual will help the club stay behind your body longer during the downswing, allowing the correct path into impact.

Another good way to visualize the proper path is to imagine the club staying behind the hands while approaching impact. This prevents you from starting the downswing with your shoulders and arms during the downswing and keeps the club swinging on the proper plane. One last thing to remember is it’s much easier to draw the ball off the tee than it is off the ground. Be like Jack Nicklaus’ and always put the ball on a tee whenever possible, even on the par-3s.

Golf Swing System - The Early Backward Wrist Break

golf swing system

By John Lynch

I’ll never forget the time a few years ago when my brother in law Steve explained to me how he discovered a major break through in his golf swing. He describes this golf swing system as “lightning in a bottle”…the true holy grail of golf!

Steve told me he had been sitting at an 8 handicap for about 4 years and was getting very frustrated at his lack of improvement. He practiced diligently however he had truly reached a plateau in his golf game.

He went through about 4 golf pros during this time and every one of them told him there was nothing wrong with his golf swing. Eventually he started playing less and less golf and was about ready to give it up altogether.

Steve said while on vacation with his family he was browsing through an old book store on Marthas Vineyard when he came across a used copy of Joe Dante’s “Four Magic Moves to Winning Golf” written in 1972. He said he couldn't put the book down so out of courtesy to the store owner he bought it.

Steve showed me the book and as I leafed through it I was amazed at all the beautifully drawn illustrations showing how to swing a golf club properly. Andy Brown has since revised this book for the 21st century and offers many media formats to read or listen to the book.

Steve turned to the chapter that explains “the early backward wrist break” and told me this golf swing system has totally transformed his golf game! He went on to say how golf pros never tell you HOW to break the wrists during the back swing for whatever reason. Steve believes the first 18 inches of the back swing are the most critical.

Most golfers fan the club face open early in the back swing causing them to swing the club way too much to the inside…this knocks the swing off plane early in the back swing. Golfers then usually spend the rest of the golf swing trying to adjust so they can just make contact with the ball…not a good recipe for success!

The book goes on to say there should be no open or closing of the club face early in the back swing…if you correctly perform the early backward wrist break your swing will be on plane early in the swing…Steve says he feels like the club is swinging itself…a truly effortless swing!

I am happy to say that my brother in law Steve is now a scratch golfer, thanks to this magic golf swing system that has transformed his game!

When you make the backward wrist break perfectly - only one knuckle of your left hand (right handed golfers) and two knuckles of your right hand should be visible and the golf club should be parallel to your target line.

You pay a lot of money to play this great game of golf…so why not enjoy it more by playing the golf you are capable of?

Try this golf swing system and build the early backward wrist break into your golf swing and I promise you will halve your handicap in 2 weeks!

Hit ‘em Long and Straight!

How to Benefit from the Medicus Driver

Medicus Golf

You wanna a solid golf swing? You wanna hit the ball straighter and farther?

The Medicus Driver has been picked as the best golf swing trainer of 2008.

It has helped millions of golfers and can help you too.

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You'll Need:
· Medicus Driver

· Mediocre golf swing

· Just a few minutes of your time

Step 1:
Purchase or somehow acquire a Medicus Dual Hinged Driver.

Step 2:
Watch instructional video that comes with the Medicus Driver.

Step 3:
Set up in front of the golf ball and grip the club just like you would any other driver. To benefit, you must begin your backswing in a smooth and controlled fashion, otherwise the hinge on the shaft will break away.

Step 4:
Once you have a smooth takeaway and have mastered that step, you must have an appropriate amount of forearm rotation so that the tip of the club head is pointing toward the sky with the face of the club pointing away from you. Failure to do this will result in breaking of the shaft at a hinge.

Step 5:
At the top of the backswing, it is important that you begin in the proper swing plane. If you swing "over the top", the hinge will break and you will identify another flaw in your golf swing with the Medicus Dual Hinged Driver. This "over the top" flaw will lead to an out-to-in swing path through the contact area which is a leading cause of slices.

Step 6:
Finally, make sure that your weight is properly situated on your leading leg and that you have shifted your weight down the swing path or the club will break.

Step 7:
Use the Medicus Driver to hit golf balls on the range once you have mastered your swing and can swing the club without breaking either of the dual hinges.

Step 8:
Enjoy your improved golf swing and better scores!

Make sure you buy the Medicus Golf Clubs from the Medicus Golf site, you'll get FREE shipping and it will ship within 24 hours.

If you decide to buy any of the Medicus Golf Clubs on Ebay or Craigslist - BUYER BEWARE!!

You may not get the bonuses and shipping time could take forever.

Also, if you have order issues with any of these non Medicus Golf Sites, are you confident they will be resolved in a timely manner??...

Something to think about...

Play well.

The Power Of Golf By Dr. Terry Zachary - Editor's Review

The Power Of Golf The Power of Golf
Only $14.95! (Plus $4.95 shipping)

Editor's Overall Rating:

the power of golf

Review by John Lynch

Dear Golfer,

The Power of Golf by Dr. Terry Zachary is a powerful story about Billy Black - a rising golf star in pursuit of a professional golf career.

There are many 'life' metaphors in this endearing story suggesting an astonishing truth - "How we play golf is how we play life!"

I was immediately drawn into Billy Black's world from page 1. Before I knew it I was on chapter 7 and oblivious to my surroundings - my wife had to call me 3 times for dinner!

The author blends golf and experiential knowledge with spiritual truths such as - "Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food".

All in all, if you're looking for a compelling read filled with golf changing(and life changing) contemplations brilliantly melded into a thought provoking story about a golfer and his pursuit, The Power Of Golf may be the book for you!

Life is a sacred journey, enjoy the ride...
