Tiger Woods Fired Up By Rory’s Trash Talk

By John Lynch

In a Newport Wales press conference on Tuesday Tiger Woods responded to a comment Rory McIlroy made six weeks ago that "I would love to face" the world's No. 1 player in the Ryder Cup unless his game rapidly improved.

When asked to respond to Rory's comment, Tiger with a wry smile on his face leaned forward and said into the mike "Me Too". Tiger's golf playing this season has been dismal at best, and the young lad from Ireland didn't waste any time stomping on the wounded Tiger. "I'm fine. I'm all right," said the 21-year-old from Northern Ireland. "You've got to realize, I said those things the week after he had just shot 18 over at Akron, so he wasn't playing too well at the time."

There's a rumour circling around Cog Hill Tiger passed Rory and said "Careful what you wish for, PUNK". There is no guarantee Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will face each other on Sunday's single match because it is a blind draw. However I wonder if Team Europe's captain - Colin Montgomerie hasn't pulled Rory aside and told him to "keep your mouth shut". Nobody knows better than Colin how dangerous it is when you piss off a Tiger!
